To make a simple burrito you’ll need: 3 ingredients: 1 pound ground beef, 1 teaspoon salt, 1/2 teaspoon pepper, 1-1/2 cups water, 2 tablespoons chili powder, 2 cups shredded cheddar cheese, and a 1/4 cup grated cheese.
To make the tortilla, use: 1 cup ground beef (you may have to cut it in half or quarter for a smaller amount), 1/3 cup flour, 2 teaspoons salt, 2/3 teaspoon pepper and 1/8 teaspoon black pepper.
To cook the ground beef and flour, heat a large skillet over medium-high heat.
Add the ground meat and salt to the skillet.
Cook until browned, about 5 minutes.
Add 1 cup flour and 1 teaspoon pepper to the meat and add 1/5 cup grating cheese.
Cook, stirring constantly, until the cheese is melted and a fork inserted into the center comes out clean, about 3 minutes.
Remove the meat from the skillet and set aside.
Add water and pepper to a medium-sized saucepan.
Add beef, water, and 1 tablespoon salt to a large pot and bring to a boil.
Simmer for 30 minutes, or until meat is tender.
Drain beef and set it aside.
Heat a large saucepan over medium heat.
Crack the pepper in a bowl.
Add ground beef to the saucepan and stir constantly.
Cook for about 1 minute, until brown and crispy, about 1 to 2 minutes.
Drain the beef and add it to the pot.
Add flour, salt, and pepper.
Cook over medium high heat for 1 minute or until the dough is thick and the meat is cooked through.
Place the burrito in the sauce pan.
Cover and cook over medium medium heat for 15 to 20 minutes, stirring often.
Remove from heat and let sit until cool.
Place burrito on a cooling rack.
Serve hot with salsa or sour cream.
