The Sport Book has just updated its list of the 30 best NBA teams.
While there are a lot of teams, including the Clippers, Warriors, and Cavaliers, that are still under contract, it is notable that only four of those teams have signed new players this offseason.
It is interesting to note that the Warriors, the NBA’s last championship team, did not have a player sign this offseason, but the Warriors still signed Kevin Durant for $100 million in 2018.
The Lakers have two players who will likely sign this summer: Julius Randle and Brandon Ingram.
They will likely look to re-sign Ingram for a max deal, as well as sign Randle for $30 million.
Randle will play for the Lakers for at least two more seasons, and Ingram could be in line for another long term deal if he reaches free agency.
In addition, the Cavaliers will have the NBA champion Golden State Warriors, as the Warriors signed Kevin Love to a $100-million extension in 2019.
There are also a few players that will be free agents next summer, but are not guaranteed deals.
James Harden, Paul George, and Dwight Howard all signed long term deals with Houston, but they will likely be re-signed as part of a long term extension with the team.
For example, Harden and George both have two years left on their deals.
George will be able to sign a new deal with the Rockets next offseason, and Harden will sign a deal with an outside club.
Another big free agent this offseason is Kawhi Leonard, who signed a four-year, $94-million contract with the San Antonio Spurs.
Leonard, along with Dwight Howard, will be under contract for at most another four years.
With Howard set to become a free agent after this season, and Leonard having just turned 26, the Spurs are likely looking to rework his deal and get another big free-agent payday next offseason.
